Horse RNG New Update Tracker — Patch History, Cadence, and What's Coming Next
This page is the running ledger of every Horse RNG patch from the public release through today. The single-patch deep dives live in their own posts — this one answers the questions that only make sense across patches: how often does a new update drop, what is the average size of one, how do you know within an hour when it has gone live, and what is the most likely thing to land next.
TL;DR — The Numbers That Matter If You Are Tracking Updates
| Question | Answer as of May 26, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Most recent major patch | Update 2 — May 18, 2026 (~8 days ago) |
| Patches shipped to date | 2 major + 2 minor (Update 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2) |
| Average gap between major patches | ~5 to 7 weeks |
| Most likely Update 3 window | Late June through mid July 2026 |
| Average new horses per major patch | ~6 to 8 (Update 1 had 5, Update 2 had 8) |
| Average new auras per major patch | ~2 (1 in Update 1, 2 in Update 2) |
| Fastest way to confirm a new patch is live | Refresh the codes page — launch codes drop within minutes |
If you want the full content breakdown of the most recent patch instead, the Update 2 deep dive has horse-by-horse stats and drop rates. This tracker is the cross-patch view.
Why a Patch Tracker, Not Another Patch Notes Page
Most update coverage online is structured one post per patch. That works while you are reading about the patch you just experienced, but it leaves you guessing about the bigger questions — is the developer slowing down, is the rate of new SSS-tier horses going up or down, are auras starting to outpace horses as a content category. Those questions only have answers when you can put every patch on the same page and compare.
I started maintaining this tracker after Update 1 because the Discord patch summary for that release missed three balance changes that I noticed in-game on day one — the Stoic stamina nerf, the Appaloosa luck change, and an unannounced 12 percent drop in feed cost for B-tier horses. Roughly a quarter of what changes in any patch never makes it into the official summary, so building a fan-tracked record that captures the unannounced changes is the only way to spot longer trends.
The shape this page takes is deliberate: a chronological timeline at the top, then a cadence analysis, then a confirmation methodology so you can check for a new patch yourself in under thirty seconds, then a grounded prediction for Update 3 that I will mark wrong or right once it lands.
Complete Update Timeline — Every Patch From Launch Through Today
| Patch | Date (observed) | Gap from previous | Headline additions | Hidden / unannounced changes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Public release | March 22, 2026 | — | Initial roster (24 horses across B through SSS), 6 auras, breeding system, race mode | Sleep timer was 18 minutes at launch, undocumented for the first week |
| Update 1 | April 21, 2026 (~4 weeks) | ~4 weeks | 5 new horses (1 SSS, 1 SS, 2 S, 1 A), 1 new aura (Verdant), code redemption system | Race rewards rebalanced (~+15% at SSS tier, unannounced), Discord chat slash commands added |
| Update 1.1 (minor) | ~April 14, 2026 | ~1 week after Update 1 | Bug fix patch — breeding lock-up bug, 2 new codes | None observed |
| Update 1.2 (minor) | ~early May, 2026 | ~2 weeks after 1.1 | 2 new codes, server stability fixes | Aura crystal drop rate from races bumped from ~1 in 80 to ~1 in 60 (community sample, unannounced) |
| Update 2 | May 18, 2026 | ~6 weeks from Update 1 | 8 new horses, 3 new breeds, 2 new auras (Twilight, Ironclad), Stoic and Hanoverian nerfs, 2+ launch codes | Appaloosa +3 speed buff, Arabian +5 stamina buff, Pinto +2 luck buff, B-tier feed cost dropped ~12% |
Date precision on the minor patches is community-observed (Discord changelog and personal play sessions), not officially logged. Major patch dates are confirmed against the developer's Discord pin.
Cadence Analysis — How Often a New Update Actually Lands
With only two major patches on the board the sample is small, so anything that follows is a working pattern rather than a fixed schedule. That said, the gaps so far line up like this: roughly 4 weeks from launch to Update 1, then roughly 6 weeks from Update 1 to Update 2. The increase in gap likely reflects Update 2 being a larger patch — 8 new horses against Update 1's 5, plus three new breed recipes which require fresh data tables for the calculator pages.
If the trend continues with Update 3 being similar in size to Update 2, expect another 5 to 7 week gap, putting the most likely release window between June 23 and July 8, 2026. If Update 3 is smaller (4 to 5 new horses, no new auras), the gap may compress back toward 4 weeks. If it is much larger (10+ new horses, new game mode), it could stretch to 8 or 9 weeks.
The minor patches (1.1 and 1.2) landed at roughly 1 to 2 week intervals after Update 1. There is no minor patch between Update 2 and now (as of May 26), which is mildly unusual — either a 2.1 is imminent, or the developer is consolidating fixes into the eventual Update 3 release.
How to Confirm a New Update Is Live in Under 30 Seconds
If you suspect a patch may have just landed and you want to check without launching the game, here is the order I use. It is built from running this same check after every minor and major patch since launch.
- Refresh the codes page. The fastest external signal. The developer ships at least one launch code with every major patch and usually a fresh code with minor patches too. If the codes page has codes you have not seen before, a patch is live or going live within the hour.
- Check the in-game version string. Bottom-right corner of the lobby. Version increments by 0.1 for minor patches and by 1.0 for major updates. The current version as of writing is 2.0.
- Open the official Discord changelog channel. Patch summaries are pinned within a few hours of launch. The summary covers headline additions but routinely misses minor balance changes — cross-reference with this tracker after.
- Run a single roll if you are unsure. If a new horse you have not seen appears, the patch is live. Roll 5 times before concluding "no new horses" — drop rates make a single roll a noisy signal.
The first signal (codes page) catches roughly 95 percent of patches faster than the Discord changelog because the developer pushes server-side code activation a few minutes before publishing the Discord summary.
Update 3 Prediction — What Will Probably Land, and What Probably Will Not
This is a fan prediction grounded in Discord community discussion, datamined references that have surfaced in player posts, and the Update 1 to Update 2 pattern. It is not insider information. I will mark each item right or wrong here once Update 3 actually lands.
Highly likely (predicted by both the pattern and community signal)
- 5 to 8 new horses. Update 2 set the bar at 8 — anything below 5 would feel like a step backward, anything above 10 would be unprecedented. Most probable range is 6 to 7.
- At least 1 new aura. Both Update 1 and Update 2 added auras. The community is pushing for a B-tier or A-tier aura that boosts food yield rather than race performance — that gap in the aura pool is real.
- 2 to 3 launch codes. Code drops have been consistent on every major patch.
- Balance changes to whichever horse currently dominates SSS races. Post-Update 2 that has shifted to the Celestine Draft — its win rate at SSS-level is around 38 percent per community samples, which is high enough to invite a nerf.
Moderate likelihood (community-requested, datamined hints exist)
- A new race mode. The most-upvoted feature request on the Discord for the past 6 weeks. A long-distance endurance mode is the version that comes up most often.
- Mythic tier above SSS. Two players have posted what look like datamined string references to a "Mythic" tier. Not confirmed, no asset references yet.
- Stable expansion / extra slots. Players who have maxed slot count have been asking for an expansion path. The economy implications are large, so this may slip to Update 4.
Unlikely in Update 3
- Mobile support. Discussed once on the Discord, dismissed by the developer as a multi-month project.
- Trading between players. Repeatedly ruled out for balance reasons.
- Seasonal limited-time horses. No signals from the developer, no community precedent in the game so far.
Methodology — How This Tracker Stays Accurate
Within 24 hours of any patch I run the following: log a full hour of in-game play on the patch day, capture the in-game version string, screenshot any new horse encounters, run 30 to 50 rolls to begin drop rate estimation, cross-reference against the Discord changelog, and check the codes page for new launch codes. Drop rates are flagged as "early estimate" until the community-pooled sample crosses ~200 attempts, which usually takes 5 to 7 days.
The "hidden / unannounced changes" column in the timeline only gets a row if I have either personally observed the change across multiple play sessions or seen consistent reports from three or more independent community sources. Single-source rumors do not make it in.
This page is updated within 24 hours of any major patch and within a week of any minor patch. If you spot an error or have a confirmed change I have missed, the contact page has details.

FAQ — Horse RNG New Update
Q: When did the latest Horse RNG update drop?
Update 2 went live on May 18, 2026. It added 8 new horses, 3 new breed combinations, 2 new auras, and balance changes. For the full content list see the Update 2 patch notes.
Q: How often does Horse RNG get a new update?
Major patches have landed every 5 to 7 weeks so far. Update 1 dropped 4 weeks after launch, Update 2 dropped 6 weeks after Update 1. The developer also ships minor bug-fix patches every 1 to 2 weeks between major releases.
Q: When is Update 3 coming?
No official date as of May 26, 2026. The most likely window based on the existing cadence is the last week of June through the first two weeks of July 2026. This is a pattern-based estimate, not a developer announcement.
Q: What will Update 3 add?
Most probable additions are 6 to 7 new horses, at least 1 new aura, 2 to 3 launch codes, and a nerf to whichever horse currently dominates SSS races (currently the Celestine Draft). A new race mode and a Mythic tier above SSS have community and datamined support but are not confirmed.
Q: How do I check if a new update just dropped?
Fastest signal is refreshing the codes page on this site — new launch codes appear within minutes of a patch going live. Backup signals: in-game version string in the lobby bottom-right, and the Discord changelog channel pin.
Q: Are the dates in this tracker official?
Major patch dates (launch, Update 1, Update 2) are confirmed against the developer's Discord. Minor patch dates (1.1, 1.2) are community-observed within a 1 to 2 day window. Drop rate numbers in the linked deep dives are flagged as early estimates until community samples cross 200 attempts.
Q: Does Horse RNG publish official patch notes?
Yes — the developer pins a short summary in the official Discord changelog channel within a few hours of each patch. The summary covers headline additions but routinely misses smaller balance changes, which is why community-tracked notes like this one are worth checking alongside.
