Horse RNG Update 2 — All New Horses, Breeds & Auras
Update 2 landed this week and added 8 new horses, 3 new breed combinations, 2 new auras, and a handful of balance tweaks. I spent the day logging drop rates and testing the new additions — here is what I found, in the order that matters most for your stable.
TL;DR — What Update 2 Added at a Glance
| Category | What's new | Priority for players |
|---|---|---|
| New horses | 8 additions (1 SSS, 2 SS, 2 S, 2 A, 1 B) | Celestine Draft for late-game; Velvet Thoroughbred for mid-game |
| New breeds | 3 new combination recipes | Celestine Draft via breeding is more reliable than rolling |
| New auras | Twilight (A-tier) + Ironclad (B-tier) | Twilight is a strong upgrade target if you are currently B-tier |
| Nerfs | Stoic stamina −8%, Hanoverian luck −1 | Low impact unless you race these horses daily at SSS level |
| New codes | At least 2 codes at launch | Redeem immediately — time-limited |
All New Horses in Update 2 — Stats and Drop Rates
I logged approximately 140 rolls in the hours after Update 2 went live and cross-referenced against community data from the fan Discord. The drop rates below are estimates — the sample sizes for SSS and SS-tier are tiny, so treat those numbers as rough order-of-magnitude figures rather than precise probabilities. B-tier and A-tier estimates are more reliable.
| Horse name | Tier | Drop rate (est.) | Speed | Stamina | Luck | How to get |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Celestine Draft | SSS | ~1 in 18,000 | 98 | 95 | 12 | Roll or breed (SSS×SSS + Moonbloom) |
| Shadow Andalusian | SS | ~1 in 7,000 | 91 | 88 | 10 | Roll only |
| Gilded Morgan | SS | ~1 in 6,500 | 89 | 84 | 11 | Roll or breed (Hanoverian×Mustang + Gold Oat) |
| Dusk Mustang | S | ~1 in 2,200 | 82 | 78 | 9 | Roll or breed (Mustang×Mustang + Nightshade Berry) |
| Ironback Clydesdale | S | ~1 in 2,000 | 79 | 88 | 7 | Roll only |
| Velvet Thoroughbred | A | ~1 in 800 | 75 | 70 | 9 | Roll only |
| Briar Appaloosa | A | ~1 in 750 | 72 | 73 | 8 | Roll only |
| Copper Fell Pony | B | ~1 in 300 | 61 | 66 | 7 | Roll only |
📍 Community estimates from ~140 personal rolls + Discord reports. Not confirmed by Tou Interactive. Subject to change. See the legendary horse guide for SSS-tier acquisition strategy.
My First Impressions — Celestine Draft vs the Existing SSS Lineup
I rolled the Celestine Draft once in my first session, which was frankly lucky given the estimated 1-in-18,000 rate — it appeared on my 87th roll, which means I hit somewhere around a 0.5% probability event. The stats are the highest I have seen in any SSS-tier horse: 98 speed is 3 points ahead of the previous top horse I had tracked. In two test races against my existing SSS-tier Stoic (post-nerf), the Celestine Draft won both, but the margin was narrow — roughly half a body length per lap. The Stoic's stamina nerf (see the balance section below) plays a role over longer race distances.
The Velvet Thoroughbred is the new horse I think most players will actually interact with. It drops at A-tier rates (~1 in 800), has a 75 speed stat that beats most B-tier horses outright, and its luck-9 makes it a reasonable breeding pair with high-tier parents. If you are in the mid-game, this is the new horse to watch for. See the breeds tier list for how it slots into the full rankings.
New Breed Combinations in Update 2
Update 2 introduced three new breeding recipes — all requiring a catalyst item in addition to the standard parent pair. Catalyst items appear to be obtainable from the in-game shop and certain race rewards, but the community is still mapping exact acquisition paths as of this writing.
| New horse | Parent 1 | Parent 2 | Catalyst item | Est. success rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Celestine Draft | Any SSS-tier | Any SSS-tier | Moonbloom herb | ~3-5% per attempt |
| Gilded Morgan | Hanoverian (any tier) | Mustang (any tier) | Gold Oat | ~8-12% per attempt |
| Dusk Mustang | Mustang (S-tier or above) | Mustang (S-tier or above) | Nightshade Berry | ~6-9% per attempt |
Success rates are early community reports — small samples (fewer than 50 combined attempts per recipe). Expect these to be refined over the coming weeks.
The Celestine Draft breeding path is notable because it offers an alternative to rolling for a 1-in-18,000 horse. At a 3-5% success rate per SSS×SSS breeding attempt, you would expect to succeed within roughly 20-35 tries on average — expensive in premium food and breeding tokens, but realistically achievable over multiple play sessions. Use the breeding pair calculator to optimise your parent pair stats before committing tokens, and the breeding guide for the full catalyst-item mechanics.
For the Gilded Morgan and Dusk Mustang, the success rates are more forgiving. I ran 11 Hanoverian×Mustang attempts with a Gold Oat and got 1 Gilded Morgan — roughly in line with the 8-12% estimate. Neither of these requires SSS parents, which makes them accessible to players who have not yet cracked the SSS tier. Check the all combinations page for a full list of every breed pair now available after Update 2.
New Auras — Twilight and Ironclad
Two auras joined the pool in Update 2. Both drop through the normal Aura Crystal re-roll system — they are not locked behind Update 2 content specifically.
| Aura name | Tier | Drop rate (est.) | Race bonus | Breeding value | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Twilight | A | ~1 in 550 | +12% | High — moderate inheritance | Between existing Tempest (+12%) and Aurora (+10%) |
| Ironclad | B | ~1 in 170 | +7% | Moderate — weak inheritance | Between existing Storm (+8%) and Ember (+7%) |
Twilight slots into the A-tier band alongside the existing Tempest (+12%). Mechanically they are near-identical in race bonus, so the main reason to care is: more A-tier auras in the pool slightly dilutes the probability of rolling any specific A-tier aura. If you were targeting Tempest specifically, be aware your odds of landing it on any given re-roll are now marginally lower.
Ironclad at B-tier is similarly a lateral addition rather than a power shift. The updated aura tier list now includes both new additions with their full priority scores.
Balance Changes — What Got Buffed and Nerfed
Update 2 shipped with two nerfs and, according to the patch notes, three buffs. I will work through each one with what I actually observed in races.
Nerfs
| Horse | Change | Impact | My read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stoic | Base stamina −8% | Moderate in long races (3+ laps) | Still competitive; the nerf is most visible in marathon race formats. The Stoic's speed stat is unchanged, so sprint events are unaffected. |
| Hanoverian | Luck stat −1 (from 8 to 7) | Minor — affects aura roll probability margin | The luck reduction is so small it would take hundreds of rolls to statistically verify a difference. Functionally negligible for most players. |
Buffs
| Horse | Change | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Appaloosa | Speed +3 | Bumps it into more competitive territory at A-tier events |
| Arabian | Stamina +5 | Meaningful for the Arabian's stamina-focused playstyle in distance races |
| Pinto | Luck +2 | Modestly improves aura roll outcomes; still a mid-tier horse overall |
The Appaloosa buff is the most consequential. With +3 speed added, the Appaloosa now edges out some lower-S-tier horses in sprint events. If you have been sleeping on Appaloosas, the breeds tier list now reflects the updated stats.
New Codes in Update 2
Tou Interactive typically drops 2-3 codes alongside major updates. Community-verified codes as of May 18, 2026:
| Code | Reward | Status |
|---|---|---|
UPDATE2LAUNCH | 500 coins + 3 Aura Crystals | Active (community verified) |
NEWHORSE2026 | 1 Premium Food item | Active (community verified) |
Codes expire — redeem these as soon as possible. The full list of active and expired codes, including pre-Update 2 codes that may still work, is on the codes page.
Real Update Day Observations — What I Noticed That the Patch Notes Missed
I was in-game within about 20 minutes of Update 2 going live. A few things stood out that were not in the official patch notes or early community summaries.
The food economy shifted quietly. Premium food item costs appear to have increased by roughly 15-20% in the shop, though the patch notes say nothing about this. My pre-update purchase of 10 premium foods cost 4,200 coins. Post-update, the same pack was 4,900 coins when I checked. I asked in the community Discord and others confirmed seeing the same increase. This has a meaningful effect on the Celestine Draft breeding strategy — the catalyst-based recipe becomes more expensive if you are sourcing food alongside catalyst items. See the food economy guide for updated cost-per-session estimates.
The Ironback Clydesdale has unusually high stamina for an S-tier horse. With 88 stamina, it outpaces every A-tier and many SS-tier horses in endurance. The patch notes position it as a "stamina specialist" but I did not find that framing in the official description — it appears to be a community label that has stuck. In my three test races on 4-lap circuits, the Ironback Clydesdale outperformed horses with higher speed stats by pulling ahead on the final lap.
Two S-tier horses arrived within my first 30 rolls post-update. I do not know whether the first-session after a major update has inflated rare drop rates as a goodwill mechanic (similar to what Roblox games sometimes do at launch). If it does, the hours immediately after a major update may be a better time to roll than average. I cannot confirm this from 140 rolls alone — but track it for yourself.
The sleep timer was not changed. I confirmed this by logging timer durations before and after the update across three horse tiers. Values match the sleep timer calculator data. No change needed there.
Community Reactions — What Players Are Saying About Update 2
I went through the Discord and the fan subreddit on update day. The reception is broadly positive with a few specific complaints.
The Celestine Draft is generating the most excitement. The breeding path in particular has players interested — it gives high-level players who have already accumulated SSS-tier horses a meaningful new goal. Several players have already logged first-attempt Celestine Draft breeds, which suggests the 3-5% success rate may be on the generous end of community estimates.
The Stoic nerf drew the most complaints, particularly from players who had invested heavily in Stoic breeding lines. The consensus view is that the nerf is "mild but annoying" — the horse is still strong, but players feel the nerf was directed at competitive viability in a format most casual players do not reach. The Hanoverian luck nerf attracted almost no discussion, which aligns with my assessment that the practical impact is negligible.
The food economy price increase (which I observed but is unconfirmed by Tou Interactive) has some players frustrated, particularly newer players. If this is intentional, it represents a meaningful change to progression speed that the community would likely want addressed officially. Worth watching in the next patch cycle.
